One year!!!

So hard to believe that my peanut is one already. She is so fun right now. She had a party with all of her cousins. She was very dainty about eating her cake. She did many one-fingered swipes before really digging in. We're still not walking, but that is okay with me...no rush. Her favorite word lately is HI...she says it at everything and can now wave bye-bye. She is still in love with her big sister and I am still in love with those big blue eyes. I'll post more later. I know I always say that and never do, but life is too busy these days!!!

BUSY!

Okay, so I know I've been bad about updating my blog...but does anyone ever look at it? If I knew someone did, I'd be better about trying to keep it up. So, let me know if all of my time is in vain or if one lonely sole actually views this. I posted photos of the holidays the other day, but had no time to write. With little ones, teaching, and grading papers I find it hard to have extra time for anything. The girls are good and were very fun at Christmas. Hannah was very into the Santa thing this year, singing Christmas Carols, looking at Christmas lights, etc. Nikki was clueless, but liked all of the excitement. Hannah continues to be a crack-up. Her latest wonderment is why mom has big boobs and dad has little ones. When I tried to explain mommy's need milk to feed their babies, she announced that when she gets bigger and has big boobs, one will have milk, and one will have juice for her babies. I'm sure her babies will enjoy that some day and she could probably become rich if she figures out how to make that one happen. :) She loves doing puzzles and is getting pretty good at the harder ones. She loves the lego table and train set she got for Christmas. Playing with her babies is still one of her favorite activities. Dad is trying everything to make her not such a girly, girl. Maybe he'll get better luck with the little one. Nikki is a crawling machine these days. Pulling herself up on things and getting into all sorts of trouble. Not sure when the walking will come. Her sister was almost walking by this time, but I think the peanut has awhile to go. She is starting to develop a little personality. I think she is going to be the ornery of the two...maybe an instigator. We'll see. She is starting to finally get the hang of eating real food - she'll actually touch it now. She is babbling a lot, but the only discernable word is uh-oh. She still loves laughing at her sister being silly. Well...out of time again. I'll try to update soon!

Here are some Halloween photos. Life is busy these days in the Lennard household. Being a working mom of two is much more difficult than a working mom with one. I don't know what is it, but I am tired ALL THE TIME. There is no relief. But, the girls are tons of fun...when they are not sick. Nikki has her 7th ear infection since mid-August. We are going in for tubes on Monday. Hopefully this will help our weekly trips to the doctor, and help us sleep through the night consistently. She is loving to stand up against things now. I thought she was going to be hopeless on the crawling, but she is finally looking like she might think about trying some day. Hannah adores her sister, but when Nikki gets mobile, and gets her toys the love may change. Hannah is a hoot as always. Good most of the time, but we have our very ornery days sometimes. Her grandma experienced one of those yesterday. She thought Hannah was an angel always...now she got to eperience the obstinance first hand.

Thos weekend was a beautiful fall weekend. Saturday I took the girls to the zoo and Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch. Nikki spent both days happy as a lark in the baby bjorn carrier (the reason she isn't in many photos). Hannah had a blast. She ran around at the pumpkin patch like a wild woman. We went with my friend Sarah and her family and Hannah loved the other kids. We took a train ride, played in the straw, ate donuts, saw the animals, and picked some pumpkins. She insisted on getting pumpkins she could carry...so we got the minis. Four sizes...a mommy, daddy, Hannah, and Nikki pumpkin. Hannah hated her picture taken, so I couldn't really get her to pose for any. Thanks for inviting us Sarah...we had a blast!!!
